Investment decisions are made at the headquarters in Brussels by the board of directors:
Vanessa Aubry
Director
Vanessa was educated in France and the US, studying Art History (BA and MA) and Finance; she earned the CFA designation in 2012.
Vanessa became involved with the family-owned investment and management services company Société Financière de l’Arno (SFA) in 2006, when she joined the Board. She has been a Consultant for SFA since 2008. Vanessa also represents SFA on the board of Thes de la Pagode and is a member of the Investment Committee of the French subsidiary – Le Club Français du Livre.
Vanessa is involved in several charitable, cultural, and educational institutions, including the Royal Academy in London and the Institut Francais Royaume Uni.
Serge Declerck
Director
Serge was educated in Belgium, where he studied Business Administration and Finance (MA ‘93).
Serge worked in the banking sector until 2007, when he started his own consultancy business and became active as independent Director. He currently serves a Director on several boards across a variety of industries, including investment holdings, real estate management, energy, flavour and fragrance as well as finance and accounting. Serge joined the board of SFA in 2014.
Frédéric Peyré
Director
Frederic studied law and social anthropology in Paris, and spent two years in West Africa working in development aid. He went on to work as a lawyer specializing in tax litigation for fifteen years. He has been an independent investor since 2004.
William Vermeersch
Director
William was educated in Belgium, first in Antwerp where he earned a BA in Applied Economics, and then in Ghent at Vlerick Leuven-Gent Management School where he received a MA in Tax Law.
After some formative years spent in audit at both KPMG and Deloitte, William joined Banque Degroof where he spent 10 years, including the later 5 as Head of Private Equity.
Since 2012, William has co-founded and managed several business management partnerships, including currently Stoll Safety since 2016.
William lives with his family in Belgium and has been a Director of SFA since 2015.
Investment Committee
A voluntary group of successful entrepreneurs and investors reviews investment proposals and makes recommendations to the board of directors.
